The enabling works consisted of grouting to an existing mind shaft, reduced level excavation and certain aspects of the drainage. The development consisted of a predominantly single storey building of approximately 2,400m² with external walls constructed using the Beco insulating concrete formwork receiving render and timber cladding with aluminum windows and doors. The roofs were generally constructed with curved sheeting and supporting steelwork with a sedum finish. The mechanical and electrical incorporated the latest technologies; use of ground source heat pumps and grey water and energy efficient lighting. The scheme incorporated a lift in the two storey offices and a hydrotherapy pool. Ancillary work includes external services, drainage, roads, fences, car park and landscaping work.
